City of Houston selects Cityspan to support the Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program
The City of Houston has selected Cityspan to develop a digital platform to manage Hire Houston Youth. The innovative Summer Youth Employment Program was launched by Mayor Sylvester Turner in 2016 and is designed to engage youth in job-readiness training, paid internships and summer employment opportunities. Cross-sector partnerships between city departments, local nonprofits and private employers will provide jobs to 5,000 youth in summer 2017.
Cityspan’s platform for Hire Houston Youth leverages technology that also supports the Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s One Summer Chicago jobs initiative. Features include a mobile-adaptive online application, a job locator tool, and matching algorithms that connect qualified youth to employment opportunities.
